Alumni Book Club
Sponsored by the Princeton Club of Philadelphia, the Alumni Book Club regularly draws a small group of Ivy alums from the area. New members and guests of alumni are always welcome! The Alumni Book Club is a great way to read new books and participate in interesting discussions.
Meetings are generally held on the first Monday of each month, from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM in Borders Center City (first floor, rear) at the corner of Broad & Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia.
Book club selections for the next several months have been chosen!
Special Topics In Calamity Physics, by Marisha Pessl (April)
A Prayer For The City, by Buzz Bissinger (May)
Then We Came To The End, by Joshua Ferris (June)
After Dark, by Haruki Murakami (July)
Man Gone Down, by Michael Thomas (August)
Atonement, by Ian McEwan (September)

Want to join a book club but can't make it to these discussions?
The Penn Club of Philadelphia also recommends the Kelly Writers House Electronic Book Groups, a series of online book discussions for Penn alumni and Penn parents across the country. All you need is an email account, and a willingness to engage in free (and perhaps free-wheeling) discussion of an interesting book with a member of Penn's faculty.
Penn’s Kelly Writers House is offering seven online book discussion groups for the 2007-2008 school year. All you need is an e-mail account, and a willingness to engage in free and perhaps free-wheeling discussion of an interesting book with a member of Penn's faculty. Visit the Kelly Writers House's website for more information on the books that have been selected, the faculty that will be leading the discussions, and how to join.
