Glee Club Spring Show

An Evening with Penn's Glee Club - Top Chef: A Soup Opera

On February 25th, 26th, and 27th the Penn Glee Club will present its annual, originally-scripted Broadway style musical comedy, Top Chef: A Soup Opera. The show's plot follows world renowned chef Darren (no last name... just Darren, played by Josh Eisenberg C'11), who is preparing to open his newest Philadelphia restaurant. Darren, whose knife is the fastest blade in North America, has opened countless successful restaurants in his more than twenty years in the industry, but as happened to Conan O'Brien, Tiger Woods and basically every person to ever make it past auditions in American Idol, his fame has come back to haunt him.

Darren no longer cares for his food. All he truly desires is fame and fortune, and his more recent restaurants have been nothing but total flops. He has assembled the world’s best chefs to help catapult him back to the top in the food biz when disaster strikes! In an instant, the well oiled cooking machine in his yet-to-be-named restaurant has fallen into chaos. With Philadelphia’s harshest, most respected food critic scheduled to visit the restaurant in mere hours, all hope seems lost when the most unlikely of heroes rises up.

Will the kitchen be able to please the critic, or will it fall flat and end Darren's glory days forever? For a sneak peak, check out this video.
